Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols. Record patient medical history, vital signs, and maintain accurate medical documentation. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including dental receptionist tasks. Implement infection control procedures in compliance with health regulations. Utilize medical coding systems for accurate billing and insurance claims processing. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, infection control protocols, and medical imaging techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation systems is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality patient care. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is an advantage.
