Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in New Paltz, NY
Overview We are seeking a Dental Hygienist who is clinically skilled and also deeply committed to compassionate, person-centered care. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy using appropriate techniques and tools. Conduct patient assessments. Utilize medical imaging technologies to assist in diagnosing oral health issues. Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow for the dentist. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure infection control protocols are followed. Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized patient care plans. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies. Qualifications Current New York State Dental Hygienist license. Certified Healthcare Level BLS/CPR. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with patients of all ages and backgrounds regarding their care. Bilingual is a plus. Proficiency in dental software systems. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control measures. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is required.
