Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support in clinical procedures, patient care, and administrative tasks within a busy dental practice. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with dental software systems such as OpenDental and DTX. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate patient in a general dentistry setting. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Record vital signs and medical history. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care. Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation efficiently. Maintain infection control standards by following proper sterilization and sanitation procedures. Assist with medical imaging procedures and ensure proper handling of dental equipment. Support administrative duties such as checking in patients, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Stay informed about advancements in dental technology including the use of 3D scanners and other digital tools. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology. Familiarity with EMR systems such as OpenDental, DTX, or similar platforms. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred; additional certifications in medical coding or pediatrics are a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
