Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support overall treatment plans in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays using proper aseptic techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs. Support dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, ensuring proper instrument handling and infection control. Review and update medical records accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Document treatment notes, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with medical coding standards. Maintain a sterile environment following infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with team members on patient care plans, including pediatrics when applicable, ensuring a positive experience for all patients. Experience Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity using EMR systems such as Dentrix preferred. Proven knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical records management. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards related to dental care. Demonstrated ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
