Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and a commitment to maintaining high standards of dental hygiene. You will play a crucial role in providing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional service. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal treatments while ensuring patient comfort. Conduct patient assessments including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Utilize medical imaging techniques to assist in diagnosing dental conditions. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment. Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized patient care plans. Qualifications Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in Eaglesoft software being advantageous. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus, along with experience in four-handed dentistry. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards. Ability to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, particularly children, demonstrating empathy and patience. Proficient in documentation review and medical coding related to dental procedures. Certification as a Dental Hygienist from an accredited program is required; state licensure must be current and valid. Previous experience with chairside assisting is beneficial but not mandatory.
