Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote optimal oral health and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent disease. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history and vital signs. Take and develop medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy; document treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients, including pediatric dentistry when applicable. Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and industry best practices to ensure high-quality patient care. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics preferred. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems is a plus. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Ability to perform detailed documentation review and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring during dental visits. Experience with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting is advantageous but not required.
