Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Vancouver, WA
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment. A strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures is essential, along with proficiency in relevant software systems. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct chairside assisting, including preparing treatment rooms and ensuring patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as required. Provide support for pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Maintain accurate medical documentation and coding for patient records. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary. Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and post-operative care. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in four-handed dentistry techniques. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques is essential. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Epic or Dentrix; experience with Eaglesoft is a plus. Understanding of infection control practices and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform basic medical coding and maintain organized medical records. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially in pediatrics. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is desirable.
