Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The Dental Assistant will utilize advanced dental technology and maintain strict infection control standards to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend or Epic, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and records. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed for comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical coding for billing purposes, and assisting the dental receptionist when necessary. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and OSHA standards. Assist in pediatrics-specific procedures when required, demonstrating knowledge of pediatric dentistry best practices. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend or Epic; experience with medical coding preferred. Familiarity with dental imaging techniques including X-ray. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus; experience working with children is advantageous. Certification or training in dental assisting is required; additional skills in endodontics or prosthodontics are beneficial. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
