Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic medical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and process X-rays, as well as assist with medical imaging and 3D scanning when necessary. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding, while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care specific to orthodontics. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care in both pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings. Utilize EMR systems Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures, ensuring patient safety at all times. Qualifications Previous experience assisting or a related field is preferred, particularly in orthodontics or pediatrics. Familiarity infection control practices is essential. Proficiency in using EMR systems and understanding of medical records management. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent patient care in a friendly manner. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
