Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe and effective treatment. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding as needed, and support infection control standards across the dental office. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in dental office settings in general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Strong knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
