Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and current dental conditions Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and preventive care strategies Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) ensuring proper technique and patient comfort Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment details in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy Support general dentistry services with chairside assisting, including preparing instruments and materials Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping Hands-on experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, including working with pediatric patients in a compassionate manner Understanding of medical coding related to dental treatments for accurate billing and record management Strong communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs Join us in creating healthier smiles every day!
