Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health outcomes. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred, along with knowledge of pediatric dentistry and general dentistry practices. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all patients. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth in accordance with standard protocols. Take and record vital signs and medical history assessments to evaluate patient health status. Assist with chairside procedures, including providing support during pediatric and general dentistry treatments. Utilize medical imaging techniques as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness for each patient visit. Collaborate with dentists to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Stay current on dental terminology, medical coding, and updates in dental technology to enhance clinical skills. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience working in a dental office or clinic setting; experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessment procedures. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and medical records management. Experience in documentation review, medical coding, and understanding of general dentistry procedures is desirable.
