You will be the friendly face and efficient organizer that keeps our dental practice running seamlessly, supporting both patient satisfaction and clinical workflows. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and appointment requests promptly. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle medical billing and collections using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Prepare and review medical records, documentation, and treatment plans to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist dental clinicians during procedures by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment. Maintain organized dental records, update patient files in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and ensure proper filing of paper documents. Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, filing documents, and managing office supplies to keep the clinic operationally efficient. Qualifications Proven experience in a dental office setting or healthcare environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Meditech is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding for accurate billing. Ability to handle medical billing processes, insurance verification, and collections confidently. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a bilingual capacity preferred. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per second is advantageous. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance, health information management, and documentation review standards. Previous clinic or medical office experience is preferred; familiarity with hospital or healthcare settings enhances your ability to succeed in this role. Exceptional organizational skills for managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate documentation.
