Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental team! Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition following infection control protocols. Assist dentists during procedures such as cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments by handing instruments and managing materials efficiently. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure a positive experience. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document treatment details, medical history, and dental terminology. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote overall dental health. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to aseptic techniques, infection control standards, and proper disposal of contaminated materials. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and anatomy fundamentals. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance and medical coding practices. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment like 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques required for maintaining a sterile environment. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals specializing in pediatrics or prosthodontics.
