In this role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient comfort. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere that promotes oral health and confidence for every patient. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures. Assist dentists during examinations and treatments, including chairside support with procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging systems, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Manage patient records accurately with Dentrix, maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions in a clear, friendly manner. Maintain a sterile environment, including proper sterilization of instruments. Use advanced tools like 3D scanners for precise diagnostics in complex cases involving prosthodontics or endodontics. Skills Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines. Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow efficiency. Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Competence in medical documentation, coding, and managing medical records accurately within electronic systems like Epic or similar platforms. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies such as 3D scanners or advanced imaging tools used in modern dentistry.
