Job Summary DANB X-ray Certification is required ( Maryland Board Recognized Assistant Only ) We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various dental procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and sterilize instruments and dental equipment following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required. Maintain accurate medical records and patient information. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling and confirming visits. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care. Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary. Support pediatric patients with care and comfort during their visits. Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and practices. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within general dentistry. Familiarity with endodontics, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology is essential. Proficient in medical imaging techniques and the use of 3D scanners is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is preferred but not mandatory. Certification or relevant training in dental assisting is highly desirable.
