Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting duties, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with dental receptionist duties as needed. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when necessary. Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a compassionate approach to young patients. Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for efficient patient management. Skills Proficient in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting and aseptic technique. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Experience with general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical documentation, coding, and records management is beneficial. Ability to operate 3D scanners and other dental technology effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and team members.
