Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice by providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. As the first point of contact for patients, you will be responsible for managing appointments, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate medical records. A strong understanding of dental terminology and medical office procedures is essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently. Schedule and confirm appointments using EHR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a positive experience. Manage multi-line phone systems to answer calls, address inquiries, and provide information about services. Verify insurance coverage and assist with insurance claims processing. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct documentation reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of medical records. Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT and ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10). Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications. Collaborate with dental staff to facilitate patient care plans and treatment coordination. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while managing patient communications effectively. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, and health information management practices. Experience with medical collections and insurance verification processes is highly desirable. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Proficient computer skills including typing (10 key typing) and familiarity with office management software. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling tasks.
