Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a busy dental office. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems. Duties Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process. Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar efficiently. Handle phone calls using multi-line phone systems, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism. Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance claims and billing inquiries. Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process payments and manage medical collections as necessary. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before patient visits. Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix to update patient information and manage records. Assist in the preparation of care plans and coordinate with dental staff to ensure optimal patient care. Perform clerical duties including filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred. Familiarity with Dentrix software. Proficiency in EHR systems; experience with Eaglesoft or similar software is a plus. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and 10-key typing ability. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for interacting with patients effectively.
