Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Warren, MI
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued to ensure comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to promote oral health. Take and record vital signs and medical history assessments for patients. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, and other dental treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Capture and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Monitor patient comfort levels and provide chairside assistance during procedures. Ensure adherence to all infection control standards, including knowledge of anatomy and dental terminology. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics preferred. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR platforms. Knowledge of medical coding, documentation review, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge related to oral health. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus for providing specialized care to children.
