Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong commitment to infection control and the ability to work collaboratively within a dental team. Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred, as our practice serves a diverse patient population, including children. Duties Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages. Assess and document patients' oral health status, including periodontal conditions and dental caries. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist in developing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and adhere to infection control protocols. Collaborate with the dentist to provide comprehensive patient care, including referrals for further treatment when necessary. Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities. Skills Strong patient care skills with a focus on providing a comfortable experience for patients. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review processes. Proficient in infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. Experience with medical imaging techniques relevant to dental assessments. Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
