Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Novi, MI

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting with various clinical procedures. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health of patients. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe treatment procedures. Assist with chairside procedures such as four-handed dentistry and medical imaging to support the dentist during treatments. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to procedures. Follow strict infection control protocols utilizing aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Manage and ensuring the sterilization of your instruments. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and current best practices in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, some dental coding, and documentation review processes. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols within a dental office environment. Familiarity with imaging techniques relevant to dental diagnostics. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health and treatment plans. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
