Job Summary We will provide a hygienistassistant . We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting the overall success of our dental practice. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and applying topical anesthetics when necessary. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety. Support general dentistry procedures by providing four-handed dentistry assistance to the dentist during examinations and treatments. Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or contraindications that may affect dental treatment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with the dental team to review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding for billing purposes. Stay updated on advances in pediatric dentistry techniques and terminology to effectively serve pediatric patients when applicable. Experience Prior experience working as a Dental Hygienist within a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting is required. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience in pediatric dentistry is advantageous but not mandatory; however, familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is beneficial. Strong understanding of medical records management, documentation review processes, and medical coding standards is desirable. Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations are critical for success in this role. Certification in dental hygiene from an accredited program is required; licensure must be current according to state regulations.
