EOE Registered Dental Hygienist A Growing and Progressive Community Health Center (with six (6) locations throughout the metro Detroit area) has an immediate opening for a Registered Dental Hygienist for a busy primary care practice in a patient friendly ambulatory setting. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a comfortable experience for patients during their dental visits. This role requires proficiency in various dental practices, including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry, while adhering to all health regulations and standards. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages, focusing on pediatric care as needed. Assess patients' oral health by reviewing medical history, taking vital signs, and conducting patient assessments. Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for documentation and record-keeping. Assist Dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental check-ups. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Conduct medical imaging procedures as required, ensuring accurate documentation of findings. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Skills Proficient in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to effectively communicate with patients and staff. Experience in dental hygiene or working within a dental clinic environment is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient management of patient information. Strong understanding of infection control measures to ensure patient safety. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members alike. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated in individual tasks.
