Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. We need a part-time hygienist for Wednesdays from 9-6. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental hygiene procedures, and ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment techniques. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote oral health and educate patients on proper dental care. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical histories Utilize medical imaging techniques to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist in four-handed dentistry procedures alongside the dentist Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care Ensure aseptic techniques are followed to maintain a safe environment Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures Stay updated on current dental practices, terminology, and technologies Requirements Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred Familiarity with Practiceworks and Softdent systems is a plus Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols Ability to perform documentation review and medical coding as needed Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards Certification in dental hygiene from an accredited program is required Join our team of professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional dental care while fostering a positive environment for both staff and patients.
