Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Niles, IL

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist in various procedures, and ensuring a smooth operation within the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, along with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting for various treatments such as general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage dental clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and handling medical documentation. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required, demonstrating knowledge of medical imaging techniques. Requirements Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry being a plus. Proficient in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; knowledge of Epic is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices. Ability to perform medical coding and maintain accurate medical records. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques is highly desirable. Certification in radiology or X-ray technology is preferred but not mandatory. Must demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
