Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and providing exceptional dental care in a friendly and supportive environment. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our young patients feel comfortable and safe during their dental visits while assisting the dentist in various procedures. Duties will be part time in ST JOHN and part time in ORLAND to start, once our patient base grows in St John you will transition to full time in St John. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use. Provide chairside support to the dentist during procedures such as fillings, extractions, and cleanings. Educate patients and their parents about proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Manage patient records accurately, including medical history, treatment plans, and vital signs. Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes when required. Support the front office staff with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed. Experience Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn. Familiarity with dental terminology, general dentistry practices, endodontics, prosthodontics, and infection control measures is highly desirable. Proficiency in taking vital signs and managing medical records is an asset. A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for working with children are essential for success in this role.
