Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice ideally full time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and work well with others. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience and uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix is preferred, along with knowledge of four-handed dentistry practices. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth in accordance with established protocols. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other patient assessments. Assist the dentist during procedures using chairside assisting techniques. Capture and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed using aseptic techniques. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy prior to procedures. Support pediatric dentistry services when applicable, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to young patients. Adhere to all dental office policies regarding documentation review, medical coding, and overall patient care. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic settings Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and vital signs monitoring. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
