Overview: Dental Assistant - Summary: The Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. Assists the doctor in procedures Takes x-rays Assist in the Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth Instructs patients on oral hygiene Charts cavities and teeth with the doctor Sterilizes instruments Sets up and prepares rooms for treatment Regular, predictable attendance is required Ability to get along and work effectively with others Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Certification from a dental college OR Three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred Bilingual in Spanish, preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: X-Ray certification BLS certification 8-hour Infection Control certification required 2hour Dental Practice Act certification Ortho Assistant Certification (OA) preferred but not required
