Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in both full-time and part-time capacities. As a vital member of our practice, the Dental Hygienist will deliver high-quality preventive and therapeutic services, ensuring patient comfort and fostering long-term oral health. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and medical imaging to inform appropriate treatment plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote optimal dental health. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, supporting dentists during examinations and treatments. Manage medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and accuracy. Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and record-keeping purposes. Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all dental instruments are properly sterilized. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, documentation review, and patient communication to enhance workflow efficiency. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist within a dental office or clinic setting is required. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Demonstrated ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently to optimize patient comfort and procedure flow. Experience with medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring during patient visits. Prior exposure to infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance is essential for maintaining safety standards. Excellent communication skills coupled with a professional attitude are necessary for effective patient education and team collaboration.
