Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history review. Assist with dental procedures by providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Review and update medical records accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Support infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and maintaining a sterile environment. Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans based on patient assessments and documentation review. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient interactions, and medical coding for billing purposes. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including working with children in a compassionate manner. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a positive patient experience. Familiarity with EMR systems, documentation review, and medical coding processes. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate within the dental team.
