Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Wayne, NJ
Temporary Dental Assistant We are looking for someone to join our "very relaxed" one doctor practice for a period of about six months to one year until the doctor retires and turns his patients over to another trusted practitioner. We provide hygiene, restorative, basic endodontic and prosthetic care along with treating most pediatric patients. Our practice is located in Wayne, NJ and has a loyal, very likeable group of patients who would welcome the right person with open arms. Hours would be Monday through Wednesday with an option to work Thursdays as a "catch up" day when we see some patient overflow and look after ordering, paperwork and tracking of lab cases. Our current assistant will train if we can agree to a 1â2-week starting date. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Inventory and order supplies as needed. Assist dentists during various procedures including cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as digital radiographs and panoramic x-rays Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Educate patients on post-treatment care instructions clearly and compassionately. * Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care tailored to childrenâs needs. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team and educate patients about their oral health.
