Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general dentistry, demonstrating proficiency in chairside assisting, infection control, and the use of dental technologies. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within our dental clinic while providing excellent patient care. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging when necessary. Utilize EMR systems such as Denticon or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and patient records management. Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and obtaining medical histories from patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage dental instruments, materials, and supplies efficiently to support daily operations. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry to provide comprehensive support to the dental team. Experience Candidates should possess: Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Proficiency in using 3D scanners and other dental technologies is a plus. Understanding of medical coding and documentation practices related to dental care is desirable.
