Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires proficiency in dental software systems, strong knowledge of dental terminology, and a commitment to infection control standards. The Registered Dental Hygienist will collaborate with the dental team to deliver comprehensive oral health services, including patient assessments, medical history reviews, and education on oral hygiene practices. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health for patients. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and update patient records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Assist with chairside procedures including medical imaging, medical coding, and documentation review. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies. Conduct patient assessments to identify oral health issues and recommend appropriate treatments. Ensure infection control protocols are followed diligently, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in dental office settings or clinics, with familiarity using Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is preferred but not required. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and medical imaging with precision. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Ability to review documentation thoroughly and accurately maintain medical records. Experience with medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus.
