Responsibilities Lead chairside assisting during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Manage and coordinate the daily workflow of the dental team, providing guidance on best practices in four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency and patient comfort Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, including medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners and X-ray equipment, ensuring readiness for scheduled procedures Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards Assist with patient intake by recording vital signs, medical history, and updating medical records while explaining procedures using clear dental terminology Oversee the proper use of dental equipment and supplies, including digital imaging devices and medical coding systems for billing purposes Support the dental receptionist in scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow to enhance overall clinic productivity Skills Extensive experience with dental assisting in general dentistry settings, including pediatric dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for accurate documentation and medical records management Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security Skilled in taking radiographs (X-ray) and operating advanced imaging tools like 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics Ability to perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient health during visits Expertise in infection control practices, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile clinical environment Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate record keeping Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding their unique needs within a dental setting Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, team members, patients, and their families Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms such as Dentrix or EMR systems for seamless workflow management Embark on a rewarding career where your leadership drives exceptional patient experiences while advancing your skills within a supportive environment dedicated to oral health excellence.
