In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance. Support infection control protocols by adhering to strict sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with dental reception staff. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and utilizing EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance is advantageous. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and assist with complex procedures in prosthodontics or endodontics is preferred. Strong understanding of dental assisting tools such as 3D scanners, medical imaging devices, and digital radiography equipment.
