Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Dental Director, the Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatric Dentist is responsible for administering, maintaining, and expanding a program of primary (and, in selected cases, secondary) care and preventive dental care in a community health center setting. The Pediatric Dentist works closely with the QI Dental Coordinator, Dental Director, Dental Clinic Manager, and Dental Clinical Operations Manager to provide consistent supervisory guidance to dental staff, particularly in clinical matters. The Pediatric Dentist will provide specialized dental care to children from infancy through adolescence, including those with special needs. The ideal candidate will be skilled in routine and advanced dental procedures while fostering a welcoming, engaging environment for young patients and their families. The Pediatric Dentist will also work closely with parents to educate them on oral health and preventive care, ensuring optimal long-term dental outcomes. Essential Functions: Performs quality clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity. Educate children and their families on oral hygiene and preventative dental care. Create a fun, safe, and child-friendly environment where kids can thrive and enjoy their visits. Reviews and follows all dental clinic protocols, policies, and procedures. Documents and follows treatment plans include appropriate preventive and restorative therapy. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards. Manage medical/dental history with a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's general health. Address all contra-indications pertaining to treatment and identify the patient's chief complaint or reason for the visit. Maintain the baseline radiographs and any other radiographs necessary to diagnose and outline a treatment plan. Maintain necessary credentialing, licensure, and continuing education requirements. Ensure compliance with all clinic protocols, policies, and procedures, including infection control and safety measures. Additional Requirements: Grants are a vital part of Care Clinic revenues and directly or indirectly support all positions. This role may have responsibilities that are closely associated with grant deliverables. Grants and grant responsibilities may change over time. Complete all the required training as designated by HR and the position supervisor. Oversight of projects and tasks assigned by the COO, Dental Director, and Dental QI Director. Education/Experience: Must-Haves to be successful: DDS or DMD degrees from an accredited program. AAPD Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. Unrestricted DEA. Active, unrestricted Colorado Dental License. Current CPR certification. Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry, preferably in community health or non-profit settings. Proficiency in digital systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and dental management software. Ability to read, write, and clearly speak English Critical level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management Collaboration with core Business Partners and full staff levels, with the ability to communicate effectively with our Patients Meeting facilitation and action-oriented Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw conclusions (evidence-based decision-making skills) Nice to Have: Spanish-speaking is highly preferred. 2-5 years of experience as a Dentist. Work Environment: The work environment in a healthcare setting can be fast-paced, involving direct interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
