Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a fast-paced dental office environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in medical office procedures. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the dental calendar efficiently using EHR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing, including medical billing and coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10). Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform medical collection duties as needed, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding accounts. Assist with the intake process for new patients, including collecting necessary information and updating medical records. Review care plans and ensure proper documentation is maintained for all patient interactions. Collaborate with dental staff to support patient care initiatives and enhance overall clinic efficiency. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, and coding practices (ICD coding) is essential. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse patient population. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing accuracy (10 key typing). Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. Demonstrated experience in patient service and administrative support within a healthcare setting. Understanding of health information management principles and practices related to dental office management.
