Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, patient assessment, and infection control practices. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with both patients and the dental team to ensure a comfortable and efficient experience. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry. Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring optimal patient comfort and care. Take and document vital signs, medical imaging, and other necessary patient data accurately in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct patient assessments to identify oral health issues and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review within EMR systems, ensuring compliance with medical coding standards. Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. Exhibit knowledge of anatomy to provide effective patient care while adhering to infection control protocols. Collaborate with the dental team to enhance overall patient experience in the clinic. Requirements Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in using Eaglesoft or Dentrix software being a plus. Strong understanding of general dentistry principles, pediatric dentistry practices, and chairside assisting techniques. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes is essential. Ability to perform vital signs checks and understand medical imaging protocols effectively. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and assessment. Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique within the practice.
