Job Summary Full Time Dental Assistant position in busy general dentistry private practice. Candidate must have attended a dental assisting school and received their certification. If you are not currently in the dental field, and have not received formal training in dentistry, please do not bother applying. One or more years of dental assisting experience is preferred with expanded duties. Need to demonstrate proficiency in chairside assisting and infection control. Position requires an open-minded individual with the ability to multi-task. Needs to be able to take digital x-rays and intraoral scans, be familiar with dental terminology to write-up patient charts, have the desire to provide high quality dental care and help patients, and work well with others. Helping provide 4-handed dentistry, sterilization, properly writing progress notes, cleaning, taking and pouring models, fabricate temps, patient education Qualifications and Skills One or more years of experience. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays as needed, utilizing EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient records. Manage patient appointments and assist with front desk duties as a dental receptionist when necessary. Record vital signs and medical histories, ensuring accurate medical documentation for each patient visit. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Operate 3D scanners and other dental imaging equipment to assist in treatment planning. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry practices. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data protection. Qualifications Certification as a Dental Assistant is required. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and medical terminology is advantageous. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control measures is essential. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing exceptional patient care. Strong communication skills to interact with patients of all ages and their families effectively.
