Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring infection control, and assisting with various dental procedures. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with a strong understanding of dental terminology and medical documentation. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining a smooth workflow and delivering high-quality dental services to our patients. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring aseptic technique Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when necessary Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records Maintain infection control standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines Provide chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Explain procedures to patients using proper dental terminology and ensure they understand post-treatment care instructions Support the team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, insurance claims, and record keeping Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging including 3D scanners, and vital signs monitoring Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is a plus Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental treatments in general dentistry settings Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients using appropriate dental terminology Ability to work effectively within a team environment in a busy dental clinic setting This position is integral to delivering comprehensive dental care while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
