Tallahassee Dental Specialists , a restorative and prosthodontic specialty practice, is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control protocols with aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Open Dental for documentation review and appointment scheduling. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding for accurate record keeping. Ability to perform chairside assisting with precision while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring for comprehensive patient assessment. Excellent communication skills to explain treatment plans clearly and compassionately to patients of all ages.
