Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice Monday to Thursday . The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support overall dental health initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and EMR systems. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment, with experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry preferred. A commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining the highest standards of aseptic technique is essential. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while ensuring patient comfort. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and medical histories. Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Document treatment procedures accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures and adapt communication techniques for young patients. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and aseptic techniques. Collaborate with dentists and other team members in providing comprehensive dental care, including chairside assisting during procedures. Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review to ensure accurate recordkeeping. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and documentation review processes. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and medical terminology related to dentistry. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively across all age groups. Previous experience in dental office or clinic settings is highly desirable.
