Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our private dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, infection control, and dental procedures, with experience in perio and general dentistry. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive oral health services while working within a collaborative team environment. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, patient assessments, and supporting the overall function of the dental office, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards including HIPAA & OSHA. FREE laser certification & training, FREE CPR, CE throughout the year and more. Duties Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts. Assist with chairside procedures such as four-handed dentistry and medical imaging. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Take and record vital signs, medical history updates, and document findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Support pediatric dentistry procedures with specialized care tailored for children and adolescents. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with dental terminology standards. Maintain sterilization of dental instruments and ensure the clinical environment adheres to infection control guidelines. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care, including medical coding for billing purposes. Requirements Valid NYS Dental Hygienist license . Proven experience in general dentistry. Proficiency with dental software. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures. Familiarity with imaging and patient assessment protocols, perio charting. Experience with documentation review, medical coding, and understanding of HIPAA regulations. Excellent patient care skills is a must with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
