Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our small private dental practice in Hartville, Ohio. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with our dentist and other team members to deliver comprehensive oral health services in a professional and compassionate manner. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to prevent oral disease Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history and vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate infection control protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies Document patient information accurately in EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness Ensure aseptic techniques are maintained throughout all procedures to prevent infection Provide pediatric dental care when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of pediatric dentistry best practices Support general dentistry procedures as needed, including patient care and documentation review Maintain infection control standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines and dental office policies Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix preferred Experience with medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment techniques Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical coding practices Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices specializing in general or pediatric dentistry is highly desirable Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical records management Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Ability to perform chairside assisting duties using aseptic techniques effectively Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation review and record keeping Join our team to provide outstanding dental care in a supportive environment that values professionalism, continuous learning, and patient well-being.
