Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Phoenix, MD

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our high quality and reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a new state of the art practice focused on general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics and sleep medicine. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and dental imaging technologies such as 3D scanners and X-ray equipment. Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to delivering quality patient care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and sleep medicine Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop digital X-rays while maintaining proper infection control protocols Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately within EMR systems such as Ascend or Dentrix Manage patient records, medical documentation, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide chairside assistance using aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental health practices Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices Support front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Adhere to all safety protocols related to infection control, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding standards Maintain a clean, organized work environment consistent with infection control standards Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Ascend or Dentrix Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation procedures Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanning technology Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques Familiarity with infection control procedures and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Prior experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills contribute directly to patient health outcomes.
