The MPHD School-Based Dental Sealant Program is seeking a dedicated, energetic Dental Hygienist to join our team! In this role, you will provide preventive dental care to children in Pre-K through 8th grade within a school-based setting in Davidson County. Typical Duties Performs dental screenings and examinations Place dental sealants, SDF, and fluoride varnish treatments Promote healthy habits that empower students and families Provide engaging oral health education to children in an assembly setting Serves as dental health resource person for nursing staff. Assists with the preparation of dental health educational materials. Keeps and maintains oral health records and makes appropriate referrals. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene; three (3) years’ experience as a dental hygienist; and licensed to practice dental hygiene in the State of Tennessee. Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Government’s employment-based immigration programs. Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the principles and consultative techniques of dental hygiene. Knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in dental prophylaxis and fluoridation. Knowledge of Tennessee dental laws and regulations. Knowledge of the aims and services of a dental health program.
