Job Summary We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office software, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. The Dental Receptionist will ensure a smooth patient experience while supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure, providing exceptional patient service. Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including insurance verification for various carriers such as Medicare. Collect payments, process co-pays. Maintain accurate documentation review of patient records, and treatment plans Update and manage patient information within electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, utilizing proper phone etiquette. Manage front desk operations including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized dental records. Coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient intake, appointment reminders, and follow-up procedures. Support office management tasks such as inventory management for office supplies and maintaining a clean work environment. Experience Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred, especially within a dental clinic environment. Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix is essential Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and insurance processes. Demonstrated ability to handle dental billing, insurance verification, and documentation review accurately. Excellent computer skills Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette are essential for success in this role.
