Job Overview Riverside Dentistry is seeking an experienced, upbeat and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their visit with a positive attitude. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. Prior experience required. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring the necessary instruments are readily available. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes using EMR system (Dentrix). Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment options. Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and assist with dental receptionist duties as needed. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation as required. Stay updated on dental terminology, procedures, and advancements in technology such as 3D scanning. Skills The successful candidate will possess the following skills: Proficiency in EMR system (Dentrix). Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques and general dentistry practices. Ability to perform medical imaging and maintain accurate medical records. Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, prosthodontics, endodontics, and infection control measures. Experience with aseptic techniques in a clinical setting.
