Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant with at least 5 years of experience in a dental setting âpreferably in periodontics, oral surgery, or implant dentistryâwho is ready to learn, lead, and grow into a leadership role . This is a unique opportunity to work directly with board-certified periodontists and transition into lead surgical assistant responsibilities after mastering our protocols and philosophy of care. What Youâll Do Prepare, maintain, and close surgical operatories with precision and consistency Assist chairside in advanced periodontal and implant procedures Anticipate the surgeonâs needs and ensure seamless flow during all phases of care Take and evaluate diagnostic images, CBCT scans, and intraoral photos Manage instrument sterilization and operatory turnover per OSHA and NAZPerio standards Support and mentor new assistants after completing training and demonstrating leadership readiness Collaborate with the office supervisor to maintain supply efficiency and readiness across both locations Participate in continuing education and clinical calibration meetings to ensure the highest level of care Who You Are A highly skilled, dependable dental professional with 5+ years of dental assisting experience (surgical or periodontal preferred) Calm, steady, and methodical under pressureâsomeone who thrives in structure and consistency Detail-oriented, analytical, and driven by process excellence Empathetic and attuned to patient comfort and communication Ready to learn our systems deeply before leading others with confidence and clarity Seeking long-term stability and a collaborative environment built on trust and mutual respect Why Youâll Love Working Here Relocation stipend and/or sign-on bonus for the right candidate Competitive compensation commensurate with experience Continuing education and mentorship opportunities Predictable schedule and structured environment Collaborative, supportive, and growth-minded surgical team The opportunity to live and work in beautiful Northern Arizona , surrounded by red rocks, mountain air, and a community that values balance and wellbeing Minimum Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in a dental assisting role (surgical or periodontal experience preferred) Arizona X-ray certification Understanding of periodontal and implant workflows Ability to take high-quality diagnostic images and CBCT scans Strong understanding of infection control, OSHA, and surgical asepsis Excellent communication and documentation skills Compensation Competitive pay based on experience and leadership readiness, plus relocation and/or sign-on bonus consideration.
